Tree Cutting Paln for 2009 - 2019

The MNR's draft proposal for logging in our area, including right down to the lakeshore of Lower Twin Lakes, Pike Lake, and Bartle Lake in some areas, has generated a great deal of concern.

Directors of the HLA attended an information session on March 25th to express the concerns of the lakes residents, but did not feel that their concerns were taken seriously by the MNR.

A letter has been sent to MPP David Ramsay requesting a meeting to discuss the situation.

We feel that the residents of the Hudson Lakes should have the same consideration as the residents of Lake Temagami, where there is no cutting allowed within the viewscape or watershed of the lake.

We will continue to watch this developemnt closely.
